Despite the lamp being very carefully packaged, it is possible that one or two droplets may break during transit. This does not detract from the beauty of your cluster lamp, as this eventuality is in fact taken into account during the lamp’s assembly; the technique used makes the lamp very dense and compact. If one or two droplets are broken, the remaining droplets will fill the gap, so there will be no visible «hole».

Cluster lamp featuring transparent and amber-coloured drops made from recycled blown glass

Dar Dar House works with the last remaining glassblowing workshop in Damascus. The work of this workshop has, of course, been significantly affected by the particularly difficult situation in Syria over the past several years.

Production methods had to adapt to a smaller number of glassblowers and the high cost of the fuel required to operate the furnaces.

Each drop is blown individually, so the shape will vary slightly from one drop to the next, which looks particularly beautiful when they are grouped together like this in a cluster. Some drops may contain small inclusions, due to the traditional hand-blown method.

But these Syrian craftsmen continue to work, to practice their trade according to an ancestral technique. In this way they ensure their own subsistence and the transmission of this traditional know-how.
