A selection of ethical and unique products to grab!
Tagua & Co crée depuis 2008 des bijoux uniques éco-durables et éthiques en ivoire végétal. Son siège se trouve à Nice et l’atelier en Equateur.
A story of encounter
Natural 100% raw material and a traditional treatment process
Tagua is an amazing eco-sustainable raw material. Indeed, its natural colour and feel are very similar to ivory, which was once an animal.
The flamboyant beads are cut to size from the smallest pieces and scraps and then assembled and mounted delicately by hand by the craftsmen in the local Quito workshop.
The colours are obtained using a natural, shimmering pigment bath.
Ethical values and commitments
Tagua & Co promotes Ecuadorian handicrafts and supports fair trade, respected by all actors in the production and distribution chain. Naturally produced from annual harvests, vegetable ivory is part of sustainable development and respect for the environment. The marketing of these beautiful ornaments and handcrafted creations is a source of fair income for the local populations.

From notebooks that invite you to travel
Lamali offers several collections of notebooks, some of which are made from traditional paper. This paper is made from the bark of a shrub called Lokta, or Daphne cannabina. It is a technique that requires hours of work to produce sheets of paper that can then be dyed. This ancient paper was once used by Buddhist monks for their writings and has been used for centuries to fill the beautiful Lamali notebooks.

The baskets made of vetiver roots of Passer'Ailes
These beautiful baskets are woven by the women of our supplier's partner workshop Passer'Ailes à Madagascar. Ces petits nids sont charmants mais leur principale caractéristique est leur parfum. Ils diffusent une odeur agréable boisée et apaisante dans votre maison. La maison Guerlain a d’ailleurs utilisé le vétiver comme composant de ses parfums !
Vetiver is an oily plant found in tropical countries such as India, Sri Lanka or Madagascar, with multiple assets. Its main use is the production of essential oils, but thanks to its long roots that can reach 4 meters, vetiver is also a precious ally in the fight against landslides and erosion.
In addition to its use as an essential oil known to promote relaxation and reduce stress, vetiver can also be used as a very effective natural insecticide against moths.
Passer'Ailes offers you the opportunity to incorporate vetiver roots and their virtues into your decoration in the form of small braided nests, to be used as cubby holes. Small bundles are also available on our site, to be slipped into your cupboards to perfume your clothes and prevent the arrival of moths. To revive the smell of your vetiver baskets, simply moisten them from time to time.

Creations from the fair trade
Dana Esteline was born from the meeting of two women: two backgrounds, but the same state of mind - the principles of Fair Trade.
After several years spent in East Africa, Nolwenn Brunel returned to her native Brittany. Little by little, she imagined this shop with spicy colors where art and craft are mixed and merged. D'Addis et d'ailleurs appears on the web in September 2007 and integrates in its new collections more and more design products of a revisited ethnic style... products entirely handmade from fair trade.
With a scientific background and speaking several languages, Stéphanie Souchon wanted to change careers and naturally turned to her country of origin: Argentina, from which she imported a delicate craft that was little known in Europe under the Alter Casa brand.
In 2009, the former became a supplier to the latter and the pair learned to work together to create a joint project: Dana Esteline, in 2011, aimed at professionals.
A commitment in the feminine
In total coherence with their personal ethics, their commitment goes beyond entrepreneurship. Focusing on female-dominated exchangesIt also takes into account the principles of Fair Trade, both upstream and downstream, in France and in Ethiopia, with the social and solidarity economy presiding over the entire sector.
Their main commitments are pre-financing of orders, fair remuneration and working conditions worthy of the craftsmen, sustainable commercial partnerships, short marketing circuits, use of local raw materials (silk, natural dyes, clay....), waste treatment and recovery of waste water. Finally, the transformation of certain products is entrusted to the staff of the Ateliers Briochins, ESAT (Etablissement et Service d'Aide par le Travail) of Ploufragan (22).
