Lamali Pilgrim’s Travel Journal, made from «lokta» paper»

Lokta paper is a type of paper produced using traditional methods in Nepal. It was originally intended for use by Buddhist monks for their writings.

It is made from the bark of a shrub, the daphne, which is used to produce paper pulp. The sheets of paper thus produced are left to dry on wooden frames, in the breeze from the hills.

This paper is naturally beige/grey in colour. Nowadays, it is sometimes dyed (as is the case with the cover of this notebook, for example). Contemporary artisanal production follows traditional manufacturing processes and reflects time-honoured craftsmanship.

As well as serving as a handmade travel journal for writing or sketching, it is a beautiful object that you’ll grow fond of.

With its elegant cover and range of paper options, it’s also a great choice for a stylish gift to someone dear to you.
