*GoodWeave* – a non-profit organisation founded in 1994 by Nobel Peace Prize laureate Kailash Satyarthi – is the leading international organisation working to end child labour in global supply chains through a market-based system and a comprehensive approach.
GoodWeave working in partnership with businesses and local producer communities to bring hidden supply chains to light; protect workers’ rights; provide assurance that products are free from child labour, forced labour or bonded labour; and restore children’s childhoods.
Over 25 years of pioneering work and innovation within a system that essentially harnesses market power through its collaboration with brands and producers, GoodWeave has restored freedom to more than 9,700 children, has directly provided educational opportunities to more than 46,180 children, and has prevented hundreds of thousands of children from entering the labour market.
In 2022 alone, more than 92,200 workers were protected by the standard GoodWeave. GoodWeave has expanded its work, which began in the carpet industry, to home textiles, clothing, fashion jewellery and bricks, where its reach and impact continue to grow. The impact of GoodWeave goes beyond the figures, as the company has played a major role in positively influencing social norms and behaviours aimed at eliminating child labour.
