Watering can & Parsleyit's Art, Poetry, and Human
Alain Grand, discovering Zimbabwe at the end of the 90s, fell in admiration of these craftsmen who, with rudimentary means but immense talent, work with recycled metal and give it form and life.
He created in 1995 Watering can & Parsley (A&P), a collection dedicated to the world of plants and the garden. Initially, the craftspeople worked from home, spread across several neighbourhoods in the capital, Harare. In 2004, Alain Grand decided to set up a shared workshop to improve working conditions and foster team spirit.
The pieces are poetic, yet highly realistic. They convey a genuine sense of emotion. The pieces are registered designs. The recycled metal is cut to size, the pieces are marked out by hand, cut with shears and then assembled, before being hand-stamped and finally arc-welded. The result is stunning!
Arrosoir & Persil operates in accordance with Fair Trade standards. A & P is a member of the Minga association.
The brand employs about twenty families in Zimbabwe and about ten people in France.
Arrosoir & Persil takes part in numerous events in France and across Europe, such as plant fairs and garden exhibitions. Their stands are always absolutely MAGNIFICENT! You really feel as though you’re stepping into the world of A & P.
