* Lokta paper is a paper made in a traditional and ancestral way in NEPAL for Lamali,

by women, from the bark of a shrub called "Daphne". This bark, crushed and mixed with water, forms a paper pulp. The leaves are stretched on large wooden frames and then placed in the put to dry in the open air, on the hills.

This paper was traditionally used by the Buddhist monks for their religious writings. Today, the method of manufacture has remained unchanged, but the paper is tinted to offer more patterns and choice.

Find out in our blog articles on the work of Nepalese artisans and LAMALI's commitment to these workshops since 1993.
