Kabambî - ethical and chic home and garden decorations!

Who is "Kabambi"?

20 years of expatriation, mainly in Africa, it marks you! The word Kabambî is borrowed from a Swahili dialect and means big, giant, gigantic thing... In the course of our travels and stays in Africa, we have met people, artisans who also make great things. It is not the size of the objects that we are referring to, but the greatness of their ideas. Those of developing an extraordinary craft, the art of creating amazing things with materials from recovery, recyclingabandoned and transformed objects. It is theUpcycling.

Our house is a reflection of this meeting. Each object tells a story. The elegant frame of the entrance is made of a harmonious assembly of wooden slats with a patina of colours, recovered from abandoned houses in South Africa. The sofa cushions, made from jute coffee bags, proudly display Zairean leopard heads. On the coffee table, a raw wood candle jar evokes the dhow that gave birth to it, this traditional Tanzanian fisherman's boat left abandoned on a beach...

After 20 years of professional experience abroad, we created KABAMBÎ, a real bridge between our taste for travel and discovery and our passion for the customization of interior design, by offering you a collection of objects high qualityat the same time decorative and useful for home and garden. These objects have their roots in Africa, in the Maghreb, in Asia, or even in France...

Ethical design

We like contacts and discovery, going out to meet people. As part of our solidarity approach, we favour direct relations with producers or creators. Thus Kabambî is, for most of its collection, the only intermediary between the local designers and you.

Find them in our section "Our brands & creators".

Our objects are made with care by craftsmen: men and women who make pieces that are original and elegant. Every decorative object, whether for the home or the garden, is unique, simple and handmade. This last aspect is essential in the development of a local and sustainable economy. It contributes to the safeguarding of artisanal know-how. It also perpetuates jobs in economically fragile areas, where a stable job means a perspective and security for oneself and one's family.

If our approach is ethical and supportive, the objects we select are above all "Aesthetic "favourites. They are the successful alliance of a raw material transformed by a craft know-how, which becomes a design object contemporary.

Objects with a history

The "handmade guarantees the character unique of each of our pieces. Thanks to the personality of the craftsman, the particular care he brings to his creations, and the materials he uses. At Kabambiyou receive the product actually represented on the photo and not a look-alike item. We photograph each item individually.

As bearers of meaning and values, our objects do not leave anyone indifferent. By giving materials a second life, our pieces preserve the history of the objects that preceded them. Colours faded by the rain and the sun, wood with a patina from salt water, metals oxidized by time... give cachet to our decorative objects. Now, their story goes through you...

By contributing to the relief of the planet through recycling or up-cycling, we offer an alternative to mass production and consumption. To feel good inside and in harmony with yourself.

Authentic, ethical and chic, this is our trademark!
